Rag Pickers in Karnataka
A total of 20 women participated in the event. Three senior women from the community were honoured as a token of respect and appreciation for their hard work and resilience. The team also conducted an awareness session explaining the importance of International Women’s Day, emphasizing themes such as self-reliance, health and hygiene, self-employment, and self-care.
As a gesture of love and appreciation, the team distributed tokens of gratitude and snacks to the participants. The women thoroughly enjoyed the celebration. The women felt deeply appreciated and extended their gratitude to Don Bosco for organizing the event.
Brick Kiln Workers in Karnataka
A total of 70 women actively participated in the program. The INP team felicitated two senior women from the community, acknowledging their strength and perseverance. Additionally, an awareness session was conducted, emphasizing important topics such as women’s rights, self-reliance, health and hygiene, self-employment opportunities, and self-care.
To make the occasion even more special, bedsheets, towels, soaps, flowers, and snacks were distributed as tokens of appreciation. The women expressed their joy and gratitude, with one participant sharing, “This is the first time we have felt so valued and celebrated.”

Street Vendors in Karnataka
A well-known NGO expert in micro-business was invited as the resource person to share valuable insights.
The resource person explained various government schemes designed to support street vendors, including financial assistance programs, skill development initiatives, and business expansion opportunities.
An interactive session was conducted where women clarified their doubts and shared their challenges in running their businesses.
