We were invited to Chubby Cheeks Spring Valley High School to give two sessions on substance abuse. One session was for the students of Standard 7, while the other session was for the parents of Standard 7 and 8. The session for the parents was part of a PTA Meeting.
The programme started with a short prayer. This was followed by two short videos: a song on togetherness and a video on the responsibilities of parents towards their children.
The two resource persons from MBBS were then felicitated.
The session for the students of Standard 7 was handled by Fr. Edison Fernandes. He gave an interesting session to the children who really enjoyed it.
Our Staff member, Trevor de Noronha handled the session for the parents. He gave them an awareness session on how to tackle the problem if their child was involved in substance abuse. The parents listened carefully. A few of them asked pertinent questions. The sessions were interesting.
