A Migrant Utsav was conducted in the MBBS compound on January 26, 2025. The Utsav witnessed participation of migrants from Calangute, Arpora, Porvorim, Aldona, Vasco, Saligao and Canca-Parra.
The Utsav started in the morning with the people gathering in MBBS and registering themselves at the Registration counter. By the end of the day there were 127 migrants who came for the Utsav.
Registration over, they went to participate in the game stalls. The games were challenging and a lot of fun. In the meantime, the members of the Lions Club of Aldona had organised a health camp. There were two doctors in attendance with additional staff. The medical camp provided basic health check-ups. However, there were at least two cases where patients were referred to Goa Medical College for further tests.
For the Catholic migrants, a special Hindi Mass was also organised. A good number of the migrants attended the Mass.
The day was supposed to end with lunch. However, after lunch a group of ladies started dancing to the music provided. They continued to dance for over an hour before they reluctantly dispersed. It was a true sign that they enjoyed the programme a lot.
