On 27th April, 2025, under the banner DB4M (Don Bosco for Migrants), we had arranged a Medical Camp for migrants in Viegas Vaddo, Arpora. This camp had an ophthalmologist, Dr. Vishaka, and a dentist, Dr. Nadine, in attendance. The camp was conducted in two rooms provided by the Canossa Convent nuns. The camp was to assist the people from a pocket of migrants in the area.
The camp was well received by the locals. We had 42 people registering. This included men, women and children. There were some people who came from as far as Saligao as well! They all availed the services of the dentist and the ophthalmologist.
About 30 people will require spectacles. Their prescriptions have been handed over to the MBBS staff. We will arrange for the spectacles to be made and will hand them over when we receive them from the ophthalmologist.
The people who attended the medical camp were very cooperative and were happy with the service provided. We hope to conduct more of such camps in different areas where we have migrant pockets.
