Summer Camp 2026

The annual Summer Camp at MBBS was conducted from April 3 to April 25 , 2026. This time the camp was conducted by Br. Neil, from Panjim. The sessions started at 3pm and continued till 5.30pm on week days.

The enrolment was a staggering 90+ children who enthusiastically participated in all the activities, be it an action song, craft or the various games, despite the hot sun. Br. Neil had divided them into 6 teams. Each team had a name and points were awarded for proper assembly and for winning in the various games and activities. They even had a pennant painting competition where each team had to create a team pennant. The teams really enjoyed this activity and their creativity was on display.

The children were taken through crafts like Origami and flower-making using bottle brushes. They had an art session where they had to create a form or shape using leaf prints. Some of the art was extremely creative.

One day was set aside for water games. The children were asked to bring a change of clothes. The water games were fun and included an obstacle course as well as a water-filling relay. The finale was an impromptu rain dance which really got the kids going. On a hot summer day, the cool water was welcome and they had a gala time gallivanting in the water.

A day was set aside for a hike in Tuem. About 40 participants came all ready for this experience with their bags, caps, walking shoes and drinking water. The hike had some interesting activities, like blindly following your leader (hands on shoulders of the person in front of you, eyes closed) and mattress racing. The day got the participants really tired.

Another day was set aside for competitions like a carrom doubles league as well as a table tennis league. It was fun to see some of the participants playing these games for the first time. There was also a cricket league, where you could only score runs by stopping an underarm ball in a small batting circle.

In the run down to the final day, there was a bottle/CD painting competition, as well as a solo singing and dancing competition. Quite a few of the campers participated, but the winners were pretty clear.

May 25, was the final day of the camp where prizes were distributed to the beast dancer, best singer, best painted bottle/CD. Prizes and certificates were given to the first three teams as well as the best captain. The campers were overjoyed!

On the whole, a lovely camp where the participants learnt the meaning of teamwork and working with the talent you have. They also learnt discipline and how to follow assembly rules when the whistle was blown. Those who were team captains learnt how to take responsibility.

We are pretty sure that those who came this year will eagerly wait for the camp next year. hopefully with some more exciting and informative games and activities.
